Our latest study, based on survey results from more than 11,000 respondents including more than 1,900 globally mobile individuals across 13 markets, reveals acute stress, feelings of loneliness, demand for greater relocation support, and challenges in accessing health care among this distinctive segment of the global workforce.

  • Eight in 10 globally mobile individuals report feeling stressed, and one in two feel lonely
  • Nearly three quarters want more relocation support, while delays in care affect health and work-life balance
  • Despite these challenges, globally mobile individuals report a higher average vitality score than the overall population

Meet The Cigna Healthcare team

Jinny Klimas, Director, Commercial Analytics

We’re pleased to introduce a new section in Rooted in Health spotlighting the people behind the work at Cigna Healthcare. In our first feature, we speak with Jinny Klimas, our Commercial Analytics Director, about her role, her perspective on strengthening analytics capabilities, and how better use of data and insights can help create more value for brokers and clients.

Jinny Klimas, Director, Commercial Analytics

Can you tell us a bit about your role as Commercial Analytics Director and what your focus is at Cigna Healthcare?

In my role as Commercial Analytics Director, I focus on shaping how data and insights are used to support our commercial strategy across brokers and clients. That includes evolving our reporting capabilities, strengthening how insights are delivered, and ensuring analytics are actionable and aligned to real business decisions. Ultimately, my goal is to help translate complex data into clear, meaningful insights that support smarter conversations and better decisions to improve the health of the members we serve.

What improvements are you currently making to our analytics capabilities, and what impact do you hope these will have for brokers and clients?

We’re focused on making our analytics more consistent, integrated, and decision-oriented. That includes modernising our core reporting, strengthening data quality and alignment, and improving how insights are packaged and shared. For brokers and clients, the impact is clearer visibility into what’s driving performance, more confidence in the data, and reporting that better supports strategic planning and investment.

Why is strong commercial analytics so important in helping us make better decisions and deliver more value?

Strong commercial analytics create a shared source of truth. When everyone is working from consistent, trusted data, conversations shift from debating numbers to focusing on actions and solutions. Analytics help us identify trends, surface opportunities, and prioritize where to focus. This ultimately enables more proactive, personalised health interventions and stronger service delivery, leading to better health outcomes for the individuals and communities we serve.

What opportunities do you see for using data and insights more effectively across the business in the future?

There’s a significant opportunity to better connect insights across functions and move toward a more end-to-end view of the client experience. That means breaking down silos, improving data flow, and making insights easier to access and use in day-to-day decision-making. Over time, I see analytics becoming even more proactive - helping teams anticipate needs and have more strategic, forward-looking conversations with brokers and clients.

Since joining the team, what has stood out to you most about working at Cigna Healthcare?

What’s stood out most is the genuine commitment to doing the right thing for clients and customers, paired with a strong culture of collaboration. There’s a real willingness across teams to lean in, ask thoughtful questions, and continuously improve how we work. That combination creates an environment where meaningful progress is possible.

What do you enjoy most about your work, and what motivates you in your role?

I enjoy working at the intersection of data, strategy, and people. What motivates me most is helping teams use insights more confidently and effectively - whether that’s supporting a broker conversation, informing a client decision, or shaping longer-term strategy. I find purpose in seeing data translate into clearer priorities, more informed decisions, and real progress toward improving health outcomes.

On a more personal note, what is something colleagues or broker partners might be surprised to learn about you?

Many people are surprised to learn that I trained in law and spent the early part of my career working in international humanitarian and human rights efforts, much of it focused on global health. Those experiences shaped how I approach analysis - following the data to surface insights that might otherwise be overlooked, questioning prevailing narratives, and using trends to inform solutions that drive meaningful, real-world improvements. I continue to bring those perspectives into my work, grounded in a commitment to advancing better health and greater well-being for our global community.

Cigna MSK Support
CLINICAL EXPERTISE

Enhancing our MSK Support Programme outreach

In 2024, Cigna Healthcare, Global Health Benefits® launched our Musculoskeletal Support Program to identify and assist customers across global markets (outside the US) with varying MSK risk levels. We encouraged enrolment, free of charge, through targeted email campaigns based on pre-authorisation or claims. This approach has shown strong results, with a 56.% enrolment rate amongst those who engage, a 62.5% NPS, and greater use of second opinion resources for customers.1 The MSK campaign is being enhanced with a more personalised, targeted journey based on location, age, and gender, simplified enrolment with program FAQs, and clearer post enrolment communications.

In March, we notified customers who meet the specified criteria about our MSK Support Programme, inviting them to engage with personalised, nurse-led support to help manage their MSK conditions.

For customers based in the United States, our approach is tailored to local needs: There are specialised programs that focus on managing MSK utilisation and treatment. These programmes review the level of care for procedures such as hip and knee replacements, and they cover both interventional pain management and major joint surgery.
