Global Telehealth: a 24/7 doctor, wherever your customers are
Seeing a doctor isn't always simple when you're living or working abroad. An unfamiliar health system, a language barrier, or simply a busy diary can all get in the way of a straightforward conversation about a health concern.
That's where Global Telehealth, provided with our partner Teladoc Health, comes in – unlimited access to a licensed doctor by phone or video, 24 hours a day, wherever your customers are.
Included for every customer
It's built into core cover, so it's available to all Cigna Global Health Options, Cigna Close Care and Cigna Horizon customers – whatever plan level or optional modules they've chosen.
Consultations are unlimited, with no deductible or cost share.
What your customers can use it for
- Advice and diagnosis for non-emergency issues, from fever, rashes and pain to longer-term conditions
- Non-emergency care for children
- Help preparing for an appointment, or talking through a medication plan and side effects
- Referral for further treatment, and prescriptions where medically necessary and locally permitted
- Consultations by phone or video, in a wide range of languages (subject to availability)
The difference it makes
76% of customers didn't need to take time off work to get their health concern dealt with.
60% of customers did not need to go on for face-to-face care afterwards.
85% of customers would recommend the service, which holds an NPS score of 55.
*Statistics provided by our partner Teladoc, based on more than 150,000 patient consultations across Cigna Wellbeing, Cigna International, Cigna Employees, Cigna Global Health Complete, Cigna GIH and Legacy Cigna UK, covering the lifetime number of cases from November 2015 up to October 2025.
Good to know
- Global Telehealth is a non-emergency service. In an emergency, customers should always contact the emergency services in the country they are in.
- Prescriptions depend on local laws and whether the doctor is licensed to prescribe in that country, so they can't be guaranteed everywhere.
- Any treatment or medication arising from a consultation is only covered with the International Outpatient module, and is subject to policy terms, benefit limits and any deductible or cost share.
- Some countries apply additional regulatory requirements that can affect how a consultation is delivered, including language options and the doctor assigned.
